Consignment Procedures
Items must be capable of being viewed and priced within 45 minutes.
Items other than large furniture and rugs are consigned for a period of nine months. Items not sold in the first six months will be reduced by 50%. Items not sold at the end of the remaining three months, if not picked up by the consignor, become the property of Laurel House.
Large furniture and rugs are consigned for six months, three months at full price and three months at half price. Furniture not sold at the end of the remaining three months, if not picked up by the consignor, becomes the property of Laurel House.
A photograph of large pieces of furniture is required before bringing for consignment, including dimensions. This is to determine whether we can take the piece and also when, depending on space available in the shop.
Consignor may terminate consignment and pick up items on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Consignors are to call to arrange times.

Payment for Items Sold
Laurel House Antiques' commission is 29% of the sales price. The consignor receives 71%. Checks are mailed early in the month following the sale.
Laurel House is not responsible for damage to, or loss of, articles due to breakage, mysterious disappearance, theft, burglary or any other cause, except fire. Consignors should consult their insurance policies for coverage.
Consignment Tips
Items must be in good condition: no cracks, scratches, repairs, excessive wear or obvious chips that lessen the salability of the item.
We publish a list on the Pricing Room blackboard of items we are not accepting at any given time. This may be due to lack of space, oversupply at certain times, or our past experience with some types of merchandise. We will also update our website monthly with these items.
We set $20 as the lowest price of items in the shop. Consider whether the item you are bringing will sell at least at that price.
The determination to take, or not to take, an item is at the discretion of the Laurel House.
If in doubt about bringing a certain item, please call us at 415- 454-8472.
